Shanghai is a diverse megacity, which devolped from a smal fishing village to a booming metropolis. Shanghai is often named as „the other china“. In comparisson to the rest of the country, shanghai is alway a step ahead and known as an engine of modernisation for china.

The business hub Pudong in the heart of Shanghai with its skyscrapers like Jin Mao Tower,  Oriental Pearl Tower, SWFC Shanghai World Finacial Center and others, shapes the typical skyline of Shanghai.

Once Shanghai was an insignificant fishing village.
Since last century the traditionelle china is mixed up with modern elements. The historical Yu-Garden or the ancient Jade-Budda temple are located in the middle of modern chinese life. We find old, narrow, dimly streets combined with modern shopping malls like the Nanjing road.

This city changed so quickly to a modern megacity, that it seems to be restless and unresting. But nevertheless the people who sometimes still live within their old tradition give off the sweet smell of calm and satisfaction. Even if the high amount of habitant and the limited number of space is multipresent.
